The objective of the prize is to identify examples of particularly exemplary partnerships in the textile sector, to put them in the focus of a broader audience and to present them as best practice examples to other companies based in Germany and abroad.

The award is sponsored by the Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e.V. (National German Sustainability Award Foundation) in cooperation with the German federal government, municipal umbrella organisations, the German Council for Sustainable Development, business associations, civil society organisations and research institutions. The award for Municipal Partnerships is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW) of Engagement Global.

Within the framework of the German Sustainability Award Corporate Partnerships, an award is presented to a German company and its partner company in the Global South.

The winning companies receive an award which symbolises the logo of the German Sustainability Award. They will be guests on stage at the award ceremony on 3 December 2021 at the MARITIM Hotel Düsseldorf.

The finalists of the competition for corporate partnerships will each receive a certificate. In addition, they will receive two tickets to the award ceremony on 3 December 2021 at the MARITIM Hotel Düsseldorf.

All nominees can acquire seals with which their own success can be communicated internally and externally within the framework of the terms of use.

Companies from the textile sector that successfully engage in partnerships to implement the 2030 Agenda and take responsibility in their supply chains can apply for the German Sustainability Award for Corporate Partnerships 2022. Together with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), exemplary partnerships between companies from the textile sector based in Germany and the Global South are awarded.

To participate in the competition for the German Sustainability Award for Coporate Partnerships, the companies must complete an online questionnaire. It collects the essential information about the partnership on the basis of key questions.

The competition phase I will take place between 15 September and 6 October 2021. During this period, the online questionnaire is available.

Each participation in the competition leads to an intensive examination of one's own contributions to development cooperation, which can already be a gain in knowledge. Each participating partnership has the chance of being nominated and the chance of winning.

A ranking will not be published, only the nominees, finalists and winners will be announced.

Participation in the competition for the German Sustainability Award for Corporate Partnerships takes the form of an online questionnaire. For data protection reasons, this area is only accessible via an individual code. By requesting the code and registering, you are not yet taking part in the competition.

At the end of the application phase, all questionnaires are reviewed and evaluated by the assessment partner teams. After the questionnaires have been evaluated by the assessment partners, all applicants will receive feedback at the end of October 2021 as to whether they have been nominated for the German Sustainability Award for Corporate Partnerships. Upon nomination, the partner company in the Global South of the nominated partnerships will be given the opportunity to contribute a video statement to the application, which they will record based on three guiding questions.

The jury of experts will select the winner on the basis of the documents submitted and the interview results as part of a multi-stage process consisting of pre-selection, the individual consideration of each applicant, the overall assessment of the nomination platform and a vote. The jury meeting is expected to take place in mid-November 2021.

After the questionnaires have been evaluated by the assessment partners, all applicants will receive feedback at the end of October 2021 as to whether they have been nominated for the German Sustainability Award for CorporatePartnerships.

The jury meeting is expected to take place in mid-November 2021. In the days following the jury meeting, the nominees will be informed about their results. The questionnaire must be completed in German. The English version is for the information of the partner companies in the Global South. The organizers will not be able to provide the documents in other languages. The agreement and optional statement of the partner cpmpany from the Global South must be submitted in German (or in English) to ensure equal opportunities for all applicants.

The congress (German Sustainability Day) will take place on 2 and 3 December 2021 at the MARITIM Hotel in Düsseldorf (Maritim-Platz 1, 40468 Düsseldorf). The German Sustainability Award will be presented on the evening of 3 December 2021.
