Cooperations for
the 2030 Agenda.

Calling corporate partnerships at eye level.

The International German Sustainability Award (IDNP) recognizes companies that actively contribute to implementing the 2030 Agenda through global partnerships. The focus is on collaborations between actors based in Germany and partners in the Global South that jointly advance sustainable development and global climate protection.

From 2018 to 2022, the award was presented in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Since 2023, it has continued as the International DNP to further expand its reach and impact.

In 2026, the DNP, together with its partner PRIMAVERA, will honor companies that actively accelerate the transition to a green, sustainable economy through partnerships on equal footing.

The award recognizes collaborations with companies or institutions from developing and emerging countries that make measurable contributions to sustainable development through joint projects. These partnerships are showcased as good practices to amplify their impact and inspire others to follow suit.

In 2025, PRIMAVERA received a special award from the International German Sustainability Award.

Participants

German companies that are currently—and at least in the medium term—engaged in partnerships on equal footing with companies or institutions in the Global South.

Submission

The call for entries requires a mandatory “tandem” application. The company based in Germany is the applicant and presents the partnership. The partner company in the Global South must approve the application. The partnership itself is what is recognized with the award.

Special award for an exceptional alliance:
PRIMAVERA and Bhutan.

Global partnerships on equal footing.

In 2025, the collaboration between PRIMAVERA and Bhutan is honored with a special award from the International German Sustainability Award. What once began as a search for pure natural raw materials has evolved into a partnership built on trust, respect, and shared goals.

Bhutan, with its guiding principle of Gross National Happiness, and PRIMAVERA, with its consistent focus on biodiversity, demonstrate how collaborations beyond traditional trade relationships can drive real transformation.

The award recognizes the development of regional value chains, the promotion of ecological agriculture, and the commitment to climate-neutral development. With projects such as “Terra Himalaya,” PRIMAVERA strengthens local farming structures, supports Bhutan’s vision of a sustainable future, and creates prospects for both people and nature.
