The competitions
at a glance.
In 2024, the GSA will award sustainability pioneers in the categories companies, architecture, sport, international GSA, and, for the first time, health and products.
The award is based on the goals of the 2030 Agenda and thus on the key transformation fields. The competitions focus on the fields in which there is particularly great pressure for action. They reflect the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the goals of the German government's sustainability strategy:
Climate, nature, resources, supply chain and society. The urgency of action in these fields is the leading narrative of the GSA. Interested parties can in principle participate in several of the following competitions, depending on their focus:
Wanted: partnerships at eye level between German companies and companies based in the Global South that make important contributions to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
See competitionWanted: Clubs, associations, companies and media that make contributions to sustainable change, e.g. in the context of sporting activities, in the construction and operation of their facilities or in the organisation of tournaments.
See competitionWanted: All stakeholders in the German healthcare system, civil society, research, media, local authorities and administration (including collaborations between several partners) that promote sustainability transformation in the healthcare system.
See competitionWanted: Companies of any size that offer goods or services in Germany.
See competitionWanted: Companies/agencies, designers, students and start ups based (also) in and/or offer products or services in Germany.
See competitionWanted: Buildings in Germany that combine innovative strength, high design quality and a sustainable contribution.

Wanted: Start-ups focussing on innovative contributions to ecological and social change.
The competition is on hold in 2024.
