The GSA award sign, according to our own classification, is no lawfully approved environemntal sign or product certificate. It also does not confirm that a business, a product or a service fulfill a certain standard of sustainability.
The sign documents the concrete results of an independent competition:
- the status as a finalist or winner
- the specific competition
- the category or size class
- the year of the award
The award is based on structured company profiles, consistent criteria, pre-examinations and scoring as well as the decision of an independent jury. They evaluate several fields of transformation, namely climate, ressources, natur, work and society.
The sign does not mean: this business or its product have been certified as "sustainable".
It means: this business was awarded a price in this competition, in this category and during this year, by the jury of the German Sustainability Award.
The GSA stands for acknowledgment, classification and visibility of real transformation. The one who takes responsibility and reaches provable transformation should introduce it into the competition.
