Kaffee-Kooperative.de and the Rwandan company Rwashoscco, a local association of six cooperatives, sell fair-trade coffee in Germany. The unique thing about it is that the coffee is actually roasted and packaged by the producers themselves in Rwanda, the country where it is grown, according to the Fairchain principle. A large part of the added value thus remains in the local area, which sustainably strengthens and
establishes local economy. A special initiative in this context is the product "Angelique's Finest", which is produced entirely by women. That means Kaffee-Kooperative.de is not only able to bolster the financial independence and rights of Rwandan women who grow coffee but to benefit from the increased attention of responsible consumers at the same time.
On 14 November 2018, the jury of the German Sustainability Award will select the top 3 entries and the winner.
